User experience and visual design for web application that measures, tracks, and reports sustainability initiatives and building performance.

Business Goals: The Sustainability Dashboard, LLC was looking to create a web and mobile application for organizations of various sizes to measure, track, and report their sustainability efforts. Over time, additional goals and requirements were added, such as creating a way for building portfolio managers to see their total and individual building operation costs. The goal was to create a tool to help them drive down costs across a portfolio of multiple buildings.

User Goals: Market and user research, user personas, and customer interviews had revealed a need at the time for a highly intuitive user experience to gather and import numerous data types, measure it with graphs that were eye-catching and easy to understand, and report all of this information in easily exportable way.

Results: As part of the small startup team, I worked as a product designer by helping conceptualize and define the information architecture, interaction design, and visual design of the product. I helped convert our user goals and business goals into product specifications, while maintaining a user-centered design. Through managing the usability testing process for each iteration and feature release, I was able to help ensure that our desired user experience was achieved.
